Service Fees
A Note on Transparency
To be completely transparent, setting my clinical fees has been one of my greatest professional struggles. In the therapy industry, there is a pervasive and unfortunate assumption that a lower fee equates to a lower level of clinical skill.
Early in my practice, I deliberately kept my rates very low because I hold a deep, unwavering belief that therapy must be accessible. However, I quickly ran into a frustrating reality: some people assumed that because I was affordable, I must not be highly skilled. I found myself in a strange paradox, watching the very students and newer clinicians I supervise enter the field and immediately begin charging $170 to $180 a session, while I worried about pricing people out of care.
I had to reconcile my years of clinical experience, my role as a supervisor, and my extensive specialized training with my core values around accessibility. I ultimately realized that I do not need to participate in the industry standard of inflating prices just to prove my worth. Instead, I have chosen a fee structure that reflects a high standard of professional care while remaining grounded in community affordability.
Standard Clinical Rates
Individual Therapy (50 minutes): $150 (Extended sessions are available and pro-rated in 15-minute increments)
Couples & Family Therapy (90 minutes): $250
Generous Sliding Scale I firmly believe that financial constraints should never keep you from doing this vital work. I reserve a very large sliding scale specifically for clients who are paying out-of-pocket, or who have little to no extended health benefits.
If the standard fee is a barrier for you, please do not let that stop you from reaching out. Let’s discuss the rate during our consultation and find a number that works for your life.
Insurance & Direct Billing
I offer direct billing to most major insurance providers such as
BlueCross, Manulife, Sunlife and many others
I am also an approved clinical provider for several specialized funding and assistance programs. If you have coverage through any of the following, your sessions may be fully or partially covered:
First Nations Health Authority (FNHA)
Bigstone Health Benefits
Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP)
Federal Government Employee Assistance Services (EAS)
BCI Consulting
